Title: 30 day inspection deadline upon import.
Post by: Batan on July 20, 2009, 08:39:52 PM
Well, my bus is home from Oregon! Came home Thursday afternoon and started working on things today. :) There are few extra things that it needs to be on the road(isn't that always the case) and I have a 11 day trip coming up August 1st. I might not get the chance to pass inspection before then and that leaves me a few days after I come back, it could be tight. I remember reading that the 30 day rule is not really that written in stone when it comes to older cars... anybody with experience with it? Should I be worried about it and rush?  :-\

Tucked in the underground, coming to a gtg near you....

I bought my 70 from GMB, who brought it up from WA. I had to wait a couple of months for him getting it ready for inspection and there was no problem. ;D

The 30 days only applies to newish vehicles, I've gone 10+ years with no problems.

What do you guys mean, haven't inspected your cars for years? You need inspection to plate it so... I'm kinda confused. :-\

It took me almost 3 years and nobody mentioned it when i did all the paper work and plated the oval. Actually the boarder guard and I had a chuckle when he told me about the 30 day inspection....lets just say Chip Foose and the crew would have had their hands full!

When we imported the T3 in 2006, there was a 30 day limit too.

Its good motivation to get it road legal.  ;D

Welcome back to aircooled land!
Are you and Janet gonna drive that back to Saskatoon, or are you still doing the bike trip here?

Good to be back!!   ;D
The plan for Saskatoon hasn't changed, motorcycles it is. And we will be camping along the way too! We leave here on the 1st and we have 11 days total. So, we're staying an extra day or two which is good.
