Title: Vw 003 Automatic trans band adjustment

Hey Guy,s ,I am rebuilding a Vw 003 Auto trans, and I need the values for the two band adjustments.Can anyone help.

Have you had a chance to look at Bently. I seem to remember a torque of less or around 20'#. Arrived at in three stages for both.

Somewhere I have some NOS discs for the forward clutch.  If yours are needing replacement.....

As per the VW shop manual:
Tighten  front (2nd gear) band screw to 1 mkg (88 in/lbs) to settle the band, then loosen screw and tighten again to 0.5mkg (44 in/lbs). From this position turn the screw out 1 3/4 - 2 turns and tighten locknut.
Tighten rear (1st gear) band screw same as above then turn screw out 3 1/4-3 1/2 turns and lock it.
