Title: what yr. is this frame?

hi. i have a vw pan i am shortening for a f/gl dune buggy.
the frame # is 1-002/100.  i was trying to find out the yr.
could not find it, when i google'd it. looks like it may be old?

Go back and hit it with a wire brush, then post the real number.
There is no " / " in any VIN on any VW.  Also, your number is too low (even if that / was a 1).

Post a pic of the VIN.

thanks for the input, i am a vw rookie. however  i  think i said "frame number".
and i am not sure but is this different than a vin #?  i have a pic, and it is exactly as i said. i don't know how to put pic's on here.  i will send a pm with my email and then send you a photo.

Here's what your chassis number is:

-1-0927108-

If you hit it more with a wire brush, you will see the numbers better.

This chassis is from mid 1955.

When you take a close up pic, turn the macro setting on.  It is the flower symbol.  Then your pic will be in focus.

I think the 55 pan above has been chopped already.
