Title: carb tuning

Hey,

I'm looking for a shop that can tune/jet my ida's. Around Burnaby would be nice but that's not a big deal. Any idea's?

Try  and ask the DVKK.

You may have to take the car somewhere where they have the machines to test the exhaust comming out.

this is not a quick/easy task .there is alot of time involved in this .first starts with the mechanical condition of the motor --quick idle circuit work folowed by timing work then back to the jetting it goes .i looked into doing performance tuning a while back ,but realised that the time involved is most likely more than what most would like to pay .saying that i would recoment bying a a/f guage system like a lm1 and with some online help and some odd bits and pieces you may not only learn something but save some dollars as well

This is probably the cheapest option and he does know what he is writting about.

I have to agree with Jim Martin. For the amount of money spent on paying somebody to tune IDAs, you could buy an air fuel ratio meter, and do it yourself. (Easy, but expensive.)

Or you could do it the cheaper way, and learn to read spark plugs. Get a tuning book from your local library, with some colour pictures of spark plug electrodes. (Labour intensive, but cheap.)

Either way you go, you're still going to have to have some jets on hand.

What jets do you have in the carbs right now? What do the spark plugs say?

I can't remember what jets are in the carbs now, its been about a year since i've looked at them. Since i've moved into an apartment i have no where to work on the car and it just sits in the underground parking....with a brand new lm1 sitting in a box :-[
