Title: Getting the itch to start
Post by: slammedbus on March 12, 2009, 11:32:16 AM
Well most of you know the car. 1963 Birch green notchback. It is a great car and in great shape. It is time however to redo the paint and body, so off the pan it needs to come.

My plans include

Pan off - Paint chassis in a semi gloss black and make repairs as needed
Brakes- 4 wheel disc.
Transmission- Re geared with an "overdrive" 4th for cruising
motor- 2275cc megasquirt injection system
wheels- Something different not sure yet. (Mowser gets first dibs on these ones)

Interior

New carpet (grey like factory)
Touch up door panels and seat upholstery
New headliner
CSP or berg shifter
restore guages and get clock working
12v conversion
hidden ICE (I-pod jack with a custom pre-amp)

Paint

What else....gotta go Birch green
NOS fender beading I got from G.

Anything I remove OEM I will package and keep in storage. Basically nothing that can't be returned to bone stock.

I want to start this summer SOOOO bad but I think I may hold off till the off season......

I will post all pictures as I go along and some write ups along the way. Dirtydeedss has been given strict instruction to use any tool necessary to restrain me from starting until Rubbermaid containers and ziploc bags are bought for all the bits.

Well first off, I would only use a bright inca red, And flash it over with some green or gold Lightning bolts, And have you thought about raising it?? like 31's or something, take out those ugly headlight and use some 90 mustang ones, perhaps a little yellowing would be nice, and don't worry about bin box's and bags, just keep a good mental picture as you take it apart, you'll be fine! ::)
