Geoff, it has become aparent to me that there is alot of trash talk on here about my car. ;) So there will be no mercy! I talked to you about your slicks at bugnationals, so now I need to know if your going to part with them. Brian
-
I dont think i'll be selling them before the GCVWS. Slicks are great but if you only have a 8 dowel crank and no wedgemate go easy. A hard launch can tear the flywheel off especialy if its a cast crank.
You will do fine with the radials at the track..........I don't think these guys will have their cars running by that time;-) James?

My car will be up and running mid next week, engine is already broke in so no problems there. Now hopefully Matt fence building party doesnt take all weekend....
Slicks won't make you trailer faster Brian.....stay with what you have.
-
Geoff, I guess you do have a good point about the wedgemating. Probably wont need them anyway against these guys anyway! Oh well,
-
Nope won't need slicks but you will need a bigger engine to haul your lead sled down the track
-
Explain the wedgemating for me....keep in mind I'm a performance engine virgin..but not for long!!

Wedge mating is when the crank and flywheel mating surface are precision ground to have a taper fit. When torqed down this is a press fit and is a very strong and durable and will take a hell of a lot of abuse!

couldn't have said it better...
the flywheel also presses itself against the crank while rotating becaue of the taper fit. definetly a good way to go.

is that 82mm crank I have my eyes on wedgemated??
Matt

Wedgemating is what you do to mate the crank to the flywheel, stronger than just 8 dowel.
-
Oh boy here we go, James get your brakes figured out then show us how much you know.
-
Matt, The 82 we have here is not wedge mated as you only need that if your running slicks and beating on it very hard with 5000+ RPM launches.
We can get them Wedgemated but by the time its done and shipping your looking at Aprox 400+ CDN
