Hey guys,
I've seen people mention going down to the dunes before and had a couple questions for anyone that does go down. I am hooking up with some friends that go, who live down on the us side already. I have a 2 seat vw powered buggy. I was wondering how do you guys get liability insurance that is required on these types of vehicles? By the looks of this website http://www.oregon.gov/OPRD/ATV/Permits.shtml you need insurance? Anyone know for sure. Thanks

You can get it by the day through ICBC. By the year is like $800.00 :o :o If you have home owners through BCAA the carry a policy you can add on. When are you going and where?

To ride on a forest service road in B.C. you require liabilty insurance now, its a $400 fine without.

Shane Taylor did you read this site ?
http://egov.oregon.gov/OPRD/ATV/docs/HB_laws_rules.pdf
It say's all class 2 ATV's? Are we class 2? It's an intreasting read . About 1/2 way down theirs a lot of new regs coming for kids aswell in future for adults. Looks like it will be similar to our boating regulations.
At the very bottom it tells you about fines one of the last say' "failure to have Insurance"
Chris is that a local insurance outfit?

Thanks for the info guys,
Did some poking around and it looks like liability for an atv or dune buggy is about a 180 a year from Capri. Seems most of the atv clubs recommend them. They can do it over the phone, and will mail your papers too you. Only thing that sucks is if you have more than one, I don't think it is a blanket policy. Talking to my friends stateside, only half of them even have it. It's one of those things you can get away with till you get caught. As long as your not blatantly disregarding any rules they will leave you alone.
