Stealing a thread idea from another site. Hoping it's not a duplicate on ASF. Figuring our sunny days can't last forever and eventually we will be stuck indoors working on projects for next year.
I installed the weather strip seal on the front apron of my 67 convertible. Only 1202 parts left to install before its completed

Hopefully tomorrow will be productive.

That sucks. You've been trying to figure out the problem for a while now. From your other posts I thought for sure it was electrical or maybe a carb problem. Too bad, Snapper. :(

Ya, I was hoping for a electrical problem or carbs. It would have been cheaper. :D
Oh well, as Bruce said, Summers almost over.

when was the last time you changed your oil... when mine went flat i noticed gray gritty matter on the sump plate..
-
Let's see VW stuff.......I washed the notch, helped Bill with his squareback. Got the engine bay wiring done, changed the ignition switch, got it running, did a little tuning (cause I only know a little) and took some pics of the T3s in my yard. Will post up pic when I get a chance. Looks like Bill might even be able to cruise the bad girl before the winter sets in. We should try and get a fall cruise planned for next month. Anyone?

I change my oil usually at the start of the year. When I drained the oil last night I did see some grey gritty stuff on top of the oil. But not not in May when I put insurance on the car. Darren, do you still have the Udo lifters??

I got to use mine quite a bit last weekend....it makes a nice little grocery/beer getter!
-
Spent an evening pounding out the pin on a worn out door hinge. I assume there must be a better way of removing these things. Any one know of a proper tool other then hammer and punch?
-
I just did these. If the car isn't painted try a little heat from a oxy-ace torch and a air chisel with a pointed end. Three of mine came out like butter but the fourth one...... Finally alot of heat, a big hammer and punch and some profanities and out it came. Good luck.

My single quiet pack was always dragging on bumps and scrapping. So I tried to install a hideaway muffler i purchased at CIP1 (sound was great) and unfortunately my back is too low. The tip was barely 2" from the ground. I then installed a Exhaust Dual Silencers.

It sounds like a mean Italian Ferrari.
Then I notice a whistle from the engine compartment. It was a manifold nut that was loosen. Tightened up and took it for a ride.
God,... I love this car.

BTW That was yesterday.
They just don't make things like they use to.

I finally started removing the worn out hinge pins on my beetle. I ordered a hinge pin removal tool from a vendor on the samba and it showed up last week.
Takes an ugly job and makes it much simpler.
-
Intalled the single quiet pack again.
Recharged my battery.
Started it.
I need it Monday to get to work. ;D

Note to self...never work on your personal car on friday the 13th.
Late at night decided to put my PC680 battery back in my car. I did the wonderful thing and accidentally reversed the polarity for a second.
Alternator works on smoke and when the smoke comes out it stops working >:(
I waranteed one of them and bought a second new Bosch one for a spare. Just finished installing the new alt 2am. Gotta love working on cars for a living and working on them at home.
So sick of looking at the pc680 I ended up putting in a DT75 Interstate.

factory puts a calibrated amount of smoke in every electrical component, once you let it go thats it :D
