Just wanted to thank the people who put this show on. I am new to the world of vws and to this site. I am impressed what a great crew here and an awesome show. One of the better shows I have been to in a while hands down. Even my brother whos not a fan of vws( i know WTF) enjoyed it too. We both had a smile ear to ear. You all have some show winners here.

Thanks to all that made it happen. I came up for a few hours and spent some time with some Quality people. Thanks for the shade and the ride to the car Shane. I made it home by 5:00.

Yes thankyou to everyone who brought the show together!...Another year, another cd full of photos and video.
Judging was a blast also, and WOW.. yes in future I will appreciate those people more!!.. That was nearly 5 hours of scoring vehicles and adding totals under the death wrath of the sun. I got burnt and suffered a night of horrible sunstroke. Though it was soooo worth it.
Thankyou also to whoever helped Shawn when the gas in my truck expanded and poured out under the heat. I can only imagine the choas in which that caused. :o Luckily and thankfully no damage was incurred. Thankyou thankyou thankyou.
The ladies roller derby team wants to also thank show organizers for allowance to be present this year. It was a new experience for a lot of the girls who are normally around more 4 wheeled skates than cars..lol Looks like they had a blast (at times too much..lol)
Thanks to everyone!!!
-
Great job to all who made it happen! This show was HUGE, and the way it's growing, in a couple years this park won't be big enough to handle the volume of cars.
Well done everyone!

Holy, that was my first year at the GCVW's and I have to say.... You guys at the DVKK know exactly how to put on a good show, more eye candy there then i would care to count...

my girlfriends nephew & i were standing by the dc and we noticed something dripping from the right rear 1/4. i got down & smelled it & sure enough it was gas. we immediately knew it was a full tank trying to vent from the filler on a hot day. i called carlos...carlos called shawn who had the keys to the dc...and we were on it. mark (i'm pretty sure that's his name...from victoria with that sweet sc) stepped up with a gerry can and a hose & shawn siphoned out a few litres. i'm pretty sure the flywheels belong to the guys from victoria with the busses.
crisis diverted. ;)

Congratulations to all involved. I'm always amazed at how many people show up from out of town to take in the festivities. I guess it goes to show just how great a VW weekend the GCVWS really is.

Hey all,
So my brother and I made it up with our '72 sundial from Kelowna and it was our first time at GCVW.....it was AWESOME....we made everything but the drags...breaky was awesome, cruise was fantastic, BBQ was great, and show was epic
My cousin came out, and has changed his ways from wanting to dump money into a celica and is looking at rabbits now....loves seeing what you can do to them. He got home from the BBQ and was on craiglsist right away.
Thanks again to all the DVKK guys and everyone who put it on
It was awesome meeting a couple members.....Silas....and the guy that sold us our new tent for the bus (I'm sorry man I forgot your name but seriously....it was SO appreciated)....and lets not forget the rat bus "mooneyes"....it was awesome chatting with you about our type 2's....especially since there wasn't a whole lot of bay windows at the BBQ
We'll see you next year FOR SURE (probably the whole family though, The Brother's camper, my scirocco, and my dad's GTI)

If it was the tent from a fellow with a vanagon the fellows name is Hans. Goes by Hansk on the forum . You won't meet a nicer or more helpful guy. He's always selling stuff way to cheap/or giving it away usually goes home with more stuff than he took to a swap meet.:D just ask his wife! Hans is the true believer that all VW's must be saved!

Yeah not my first time at the show but the first time i made it there in My Panel. Made all the difference and put a big smile on my face all the time i was driving around for parking. I got plenty of inspiration from the eye Candy often ideas from places i would not think, and although my swap meeting produced zilch ive since managed to pick up a few things i didnt even know i could not live without.
The best way to spend a sick day i know off........
And a big pat on the back to all who organised it, most of whom i would not recognise even if i fell over them but without whom i would not have had such a sweet day.

I second that as He along with GMB salvaged what was left of my 64 for me when I was down. He also has that black sweet t-3.
