What are some of you running for a wide band AFR setup?
I'm leaning towards the Tech Edge after Allan and Bruce put me onto it. I know some people here run the LM-1, but I don't care for that setup due to the lack of seperate display from the controller. I see the LC-1 being a better choice.
If you could list what you are running (or have run) and some pros and cons to it that would be great!

iirc correctly you can add an xd-16 guage to the lm-1 setup, LC-1 requires a laptop to do datalogging unless you go with an auxbox like the lm-32 i beleive with can do the logging to a flash memory card

I still haven't been able to figgure out how to view my recorded runs on my LM1  :rolleyes: probably user error ;)

I bought my Wego2 from Ebay ....Speedtweekers.  Nice big bright display, datalogs 2 hours, rpm input with no extra box needed, just tap into the tach signal, and one 5 volt input also.  Can't beat the price for what is included.  Everything I wanted.  The tech edge is  everything you could want also but abit more money.

Hi Trevor,

I think the Innovate systems are manufactured with data logging in mind. If you don't want , or need, to record what your engine is doing, then you may want to look around.

I have LC-1, SSI-4, XD-1.  I use an older laptop for my data-logging, late 90's vintage, with a serial port, for recording.  You don't really need the XD-1, if you're using the computer. The XD-1 is a nice touch when you don't have the computer on board

Right now, I'm only using two of the five channels available. (AFR and RPM) But I have plans for the vacant channels.

I can't believe how much time I wasted reading spark plugs, in the old days.  Any AFR meter is better than nothing.

You mean before O2 sensors existed?

Let me clarify...

Reading spark plugs is a valuable skill. But it takes a lot of time to pull plugs, look at them, and stick them back in. Not to mention that it's a real pain to do when the motor is hot. It's way easier to just look at the AFR meter.

AFR meters have been around for 10 to 15 years now,  and I've only had one for two.  I wish I had bought one way earlier.

 or when you didn't cut the holes in your cyl tin big enough to remove plugs with the carbs on.......
don't ask how I know that one :blush:
