Look at the actual area needed to be trimmed - I have a feeling my car may have been hit in the rear before...

Hey James,

While were on the topic. I was wondering the pros and cons of the hard tranny mount. Is it as simple as the hard tranny mount is stronger, but decreases driver comfort a little?

If anyone needs one of those solid rear trans mounts like in James' pic, I have one for $20.

James, you should put some safety lockwire on the throw out bearing clips.  Even though you have the Saab \"hi perf\" ones, they do come out.  I've had those come out on a totally stock car.  Tie your wire through the loop of the clip, then wrap it around the bottom of the TO bearing and through the loop of the other clip.
Man, the things you swing axle guys have to put up with!

What kind of wire should I use Bruce? As far as the hard mount, I wanted one to tie in the Drag Bar - the stock one felt kinda flimsy compared to it.

Chrome and glossy paint don't get you home..
Then maybe I'm going down the entirely wrong path

Don't tell me you under the impression that you need large ports to go fast?!!??!?! I'd have no bottom end if they were overkill large!

No I'm juust saying chrome and glossy paint won't get you home.
Meanwhile I'm making my bug look nice but I won't have major power to put a certain vert ghia in its place. oh well. At least I'll win 1600cc class.

I've got a spool of .030\" stainless steel lockwire.  If you can come up with something similar it should be fine.

Hopefully, you dont try to use the wire your always tugging on James!  As for no bottom end I thought you would try to get as much out of those heads as possible. Is the rummor not true that headwork is were you get most of your power from?

Oh they have been worked, just saying on my smaller displacement and larger port would be counter productive.

Thanks for the Info Bruce, I have access to the same wire.
