Title: Removeable Rear Apron
Post by: Pipes on February 24, 2004, 07:20:18 AM
What kind of set up do people use to install a removable rear apron in thier car?  Is there a kit sold? Latching?  I'd like to do this for 2 reasons, Ease of engine removeall and my Rear apron is all bent to hell from a rear ender and doesn't line up with the fenders (Read, LOOKS LIKE ASS)

I'll be finished mine this weekend - I've been taking pics as I go - I'll post them when I am done.
Basically this is what I have done:

Drilled out the old apron (spot welds)
Matt then replaced both bumper mount sections with new metal.
Located a fiberglass rear apron (thanks Jim)
I have since made an Aluminum support piece for inside the apron to hold it rigid while mounted.
The support will be drilled as will the apron and bumper mount area and then all bolted together.
I thought about using quick fasteners Like Duzes but decided to use bolts for a more solid mount.
