Went to the track in Maui last weekend and met a few VW racers, Whitey, a long time Maui VW racer and Nelson. Both guys have quite a few different VW's. Whitey has a 55, 56, 57 and a Karman Ghia all used on the track with various history dating back to the 80's.
Quite a few nice cars there but these guys both cleaned up. They ran in the 11.9 index and 12.9 index. It's always nice to see a beetle blow away a V-8.
I will post a few pictures if someone explains how to do it.
