Hey you more experienced out there... Whats the deal if I have an american wrecker ships up some parts to moi? Other than the cost and shipping for the piece(s).
Customs?
Thanks

you will get nailed hard for brokerage and duty!!! watch out, ship it to Blaine and pick up there to avoid these costs......still gotta pay duty if you declare it.

Axiom,
They usually have to fill customs clearance paperwork for it to be shipped into Canada directly, and the freight is allot more plus the GST & PST for the parts purchased. There is no Duty on Automotive Parts coming into Canada.
What I usually do is get my parts shipped to Hagens of Blaine and they will call you when they arrive there. Then just go accross and pick up. Freight is way cheaper if the shipping stays within the US. Just call Hagens to set it up Ph: 360 332-5246. They will charge you $3.00 for the service.
Hope this helps.

Hey I thought I was the only one to use Hagens in Blaine!
All my business stuff goes through them except my blade resharpenings which I pay no extra taxes on.

Never get stuff UPS'd or Fedex'd!
Get it USPS, and mark the value as $20, Gift.
I get big stuff sent to me all the time, no GST, no brokerage, nothing. And it's sweet, some stuff in the US is just to cheap to pass on.

Self-evident truth is an oxymoron.

I agree with the above, Puralator dinged me big time when I recieved my 6AL form cali.

There is no Duty on Automotive Parts coming into Canada.
This is not true in all cases. Auto parts made in the USA or Mexico are duty free, part of NAFTA. Parts made for vehicles 25 years old or older are duty free regardless of where they are made. Parts made for new cars are dutyable. Germany and Japan are not part of NAFTA. The rate is usually 9.2%
In all cases you have to pay GST/PST.
DO NOT UPS into Canada, they will SCREW you.

No man Hagens of Blaine works great !! Use them all the time

Use UPS depot in Blaine or Linden depending on where you live, go get the stuff yourself, brokrage fee's are steep,
Or if you are lucky enough to know a person who lives down there and works here have them bring it up for you
