Title: Front Beam Pulling

Hey guys.
I'd like to yank the beam out of my 62 bug Seabert this weekend.. So I just want to make sure I got my \"Order of Operations\" right.
Going to look at my manual but this is how I think would be a good process.
Remove wheels
Take off swaybar.
Remove shocks
remove drums and back plates.
Remove tierods
remove spindles
remove torsion arms
remove beam..
Then pull out the torsion leaves..
I think I'm on the right track...

Hey Kirin, you forgot the most important step of all.

Jack up Seabert & put jack stands under floor pan front firewall mounting bolts,
after loosening the front wheel nuts/bolts.  :rolleyes:

Yeah very important part.. And Knowing my luck I would do such a thing.

Why remove tierods/spindles/torsions etc.. and all that? Do it when it's out way easier - just undo the one end of the tie rod that goes over the pan so it will slid out.
Also Don't forget to lift your gastank to get to the top bolts of your beam.

gas tanks out being sealed..
Isn't it kind of easier when its all held together though?
Don't have to deal with the front beam flopping around on the floor..

Two words - bashed knuckles - take it out and bring it over use my air tools  - way easier!

Wow an oppurtunity to pester James! Awesome..
Well my cars cali so the nuts usually come out with a little persuasion..
I'm sure somebody will twist this..
