How much HP can a stock swingaxle transmission handle?

The limiting factor of the trans' strength is not the hp of the engine, but the nut behind the wheel.  
I've known guys who have been able to make a near stock trans survive with over 300hp, yet others can blow up a well built trans with less than 100hp.
What kind of a nut are you?
