Title: Clutch Noise
Post by: dirtydeedss on July 15, 2007, 09:32:12 PM
When i press my clutch pedal i can hear a almost grinding noise.  Was wondering if anyone has heard this before, im thinking its the throwout bearing. and when I have the pedal pushed in The lever on the tranny starts to mildly shake.  was just wondering if anyone might know what it is before I go tearing it all apart.
derek

Definiteley sounds like the bearing is bad, could have popped off one of the fingers on the release lever too.

The bearings are sealed and can't be greased.

ditto to what busdaddy said.

a little high temp grease on the shaft the throwout bearing rides on could help a bit. and safety wire the clips that hold the bearing to the fork.

It could happen, how were the release shaft bushings? Contacting the pressure plate crooked could cause that too.
