unscrew the -8 to pipe ones in your leaky ass empi bolt on covers and grind the pipe threads off then have them welded to your new covers

easy peasy japanesey :D

Or you can go super-tech and drill& tap them into your heads like Turbo-Jim did on Klaatu...and just use regular valve covers

chromo pushrods = valves gaped @ loose .000\" so just snug it untill you feel a bit of drag spinning the pushrod

what are the 2 odd looking bolts?

its a hollow bolt with a rubber washer and threads only half way down.

my mom picked up the valve covers and said these were with them so she grabbed them as well. maybe she wasnt supposed to

so anything im missing? i seem to feel like im missing something cause the 1200 had \"wire\" that looked like it was holding the cover on

ok, empi pos are off the vehicle, figured out what tha -8 an fittings are. now im looking at the welding procedure.

looks like i have to punch a hole in the german cover, put the fitting through then weld it to seal it on. am i right on this?

and which side are the pipe threads i have to grind off? i assume the ones that went into the empi cover

you got it, buzz the pipe threads off flush with the hex, weld and then run a drill bit through from the outside in using the fitting as a pilot

so if i understand this right, when im done grinding i should be left with only the stuff that was sticking out of the empi valve cover

had an idea, would it work to leave a bit of the pipe stuff on, drill a hole in the valve cover, put it through then weld it on the inside? then use a drill to clean up any splatter i might get.

wooo, got everything welded and cleaned and put back together, almost

so because the german covers dont go out as far as the empi ones i cant the the oil return line on the fitting, its about half an inch to short

and lordco being ever so useful has nothing to help me.  i now need idea.
if i was to just replace it with tubing what sort of tubing would i need?

parker pushlok is what I used on your car, you might find it at an industrial hydraulic shop. how much you need? I have a couple chunks left over.

im just going to use different pipe fittings and figure it out

the tube would need to bend but there isnt enough length to get it to bend. im going to a parts shop that knows something and just get different fittings to make the length up
