I'm a man of wealth and taste
Ive been around for a long, long year
Stole many a mans soul and faith
And I was round when Jesus Christ...
well, not that long... And not sure about the wealth part either...nor the part about stealing the souls and faith. LOL
Anyway, I am moving to Vancouver(from Saskatoon) in early August so I thought I might as well introduce myself. I've been to Great Canadian twice, in 2003 and 2005. First time with my watercooled and the second time with my aircooled. If anybody is on VWVortex or TheSamba, the nickname might ring the bell(the same as here). The real name is Ermin.
On to the car! A 1961 KG couple.

Very nice, Welcome, What brings you to BC?

Nice ride Batan! Welcome to the wet coast (sorry, west coast) :P

Welcome to our Humble Province.
Nice ride, I love white interiors on an Air Cooled VW.
Look forward to meeting you.

welcome to the asf ermin. beautifull ghia you have there.
so will you be out in time for the gcvws festivities and what area of vancouver will you be residing in?
-
Thanks guys! :)
I will be staying downtown, we just got an apartment there. Once I'm settled, I will have to figure out a way to bring the Ghia down there. It might stay in S'toon for the winter(in a garage) and I would fly back in the spring to drive it to its(and our) new home.
As for what brings me to Vancouver, I came to Canada in late 1995(from Bosnia originally) and have lived in Saskatoon ever since. Sad to say it, but in general I never liked it one bit, although I do have great friends and all. But on the grand scale, backwards mentality has been killing me here. I have a preference for bigger cities and definitely for progressive and liberal mindset. We did some \"city shopping\" last year before I headed with my(now) wife to Europe for 7 months. We visited Montreal and Toronto and stayed for few days to check them out. After few months of traveling in Europe, we both independently concluded that Vancouver is the winner, Montreal in very close second.
Basically, I love BC scenery, I grew up in mountains and hills. And there are a lot of nice places to drive to, and I enjoy driving - a lot! :) Nightlife and different other opportunities are in there as well, part of the same list. That is it, in the nutshell.
