I am going to Whitehorse, Yukon next month. Are there any interesting VW air cooled wrecking yards worth visiting?
Thanks.

Theres only a few at the local wreckin yard here not to much though.Theres a few of us that went on a big collecting spree of acvw parts and cars a few years ago,so not much layin around anymore
There are a few driving around though..... is this a vacation or work?

I too will be up that way in the near future with work....

Oh good James, maybe we could trade BEER for some tuning tips....have some issues with my 2027! :o
-
You betcha - I am always open to drinking other people's beer!!!!
I'm not sure when I will be up but it is part of my new job so I am sure it will be at least once this summer. Not even to sure where yet. I'll post when I know and I can bring my LM1.
-
How often you going to have to go James?
I go every 6-7 weeks for 5-6 days :o
Good in the summer B)
January is another story
maybe we should keep an ACVW up there and we can car share.
In all my times up, I have only seen 2 buses and a beetle.
Good to hear they are up there, just in hiding?

I honestly have no clue when or where I am going, I just know that I am at some point in time. I will know In july when I start with my new company. I know I won't be up there in the winter that's the only thing I know for sure. I will also have a company vehicle up there as well and I'm pretty sure it will be a truck of some sort.

Sounds good to me!! I need a few tips if your willing to give them out to a fellow vw dumby
LM1?? dunno  what that is?
Just today I checked out a 1970 fastback this guy found..... with only 13,850 miles on it  very nice resto project!
I'm going to try to talk him out of it

an lm1 measures the air/fuel ratio of the motor (or more precisely, the oxygen content in the exhaust) and also performs a few other tricks.

Thanks Silas,
I emailed that guy with the type 3 tonight and he responded right away. Unfortunately, that car is all he has and he could not provide any leads.

LM1 sounds like just what I need..............
We will make sure we have the right flavor (beer) for ya James!!
