If they do fit, I assume it would change my braking ability.
-
I used to run that on my old super and only noticed a difference in the rain when they would sometimes lock up...
-
I think those tires are too small for you E, better sell them to me! :)

Would I be better with 145s? Too bad I sold those.
-
Can't say 100% but I would think the larger contact on the asphalt the better. Why not goto a 175/55 smart car tire?
-
Is that 175 a low profile tire still? I assume there's way more of them around than 135 michelins! Any idea to the cost of the smart car ones?

About $130 a tire for smart car tires.

I have a set in my garage if you want a picture comparison of the profile I can get that for you.

yup.

ditto.
afaik, 175/55's are just a hair shorter than 135's....so you can maintain that dropped nose stance and get more rubber on the road.
allthough, i have run 135's on the front of my 64 for about 1 year (daily, all through winter) and havent had any problems (knock on wood). this is a 135 on a 4\" rim. trying to stuff that tire on a 5.5\" or 6\" rim would be too much, imho.
emilio, how wide are your empi 8 spokes?

I think they are 5 1/2\" . I will check tomorrow.
-
Yes they are 5.5\"
-
Yes they are 5.5"
5.5\" it is.
-
5.5\" it is.
it's your call then emilio.
james says he ran them and they were allright except for in the rain. i personally havent ran 135's on a 5.5\" wheel, but i've seen them and they are just a wee bit to stretched for my liking. but again, that is just my opinion....and it's like my asshole....always stinking up the joint. :o

i have got 145s on 5.5 rims and they look good to me but i have not run them yet.
-
im with everyone saying 135 is going to be way to little contact and the stretch is going to look terrible, id go with smart tires personally, i ran 185s on my empi 8 spokes on my super

I don't mind opinions.
As a matter of fact that is why I asked the question.
When I was in my 20s I wouldn't have listen. While I have had a multitude of experiences at my age, the cheapest experience I ever had was that of others that have experienced things that I have not. After all, taken wisely there is a multitude of knowledge out there.
-
personally I would not do it.
-
145's are as narrow as I would even think of going Egspot. The pictures I sent you of my 145's were on 5 1/2\" wheels. Sitting flat on the ground the rubber JUST touches the ground before the wheel. If you had narrower wheels then perhaps but with the amount of rain you get down there I'd be worried about traction and braking.

Thanks Guys,
I gathered I should not do it for my daily . I need 145s and probably should have other wheels for it.
The 135s are more for someone with a slammer or someone who has a race car. ( what will I do with my 68, when I finished my 66?) I am just kidding because I can
