Title: Alternator Not Charging

The \"alt\" light comes on when the key is turned on, then goes out once the car is running. Alt is getting 12v from the battery but isn't sending any voltage to the battery. Brushes seem fine, belt tension is good. I believe it has an internal regulator.

Shouldn't the \"alt\" light stay on if 14 volts are not present?

Any ideas?

check the alternator with a multi meter to determine if it is putting out any power or not
