Look at the bolt pattern.

Look at:

http://www.airspeedparts.com/tech/wheel_sizing.htm (http://www.airspeedparts.com/tech/wheel_sizing.htm)

or just read this..

{Stock and aftermarket Volkswagen wheels are quickly identified by the pitch circle diameter, commonly referred to as the \"bolt pattern\". The bolt pattern is described by the number of bolt holes, and the diameter in millimeters of the circle they form. It is written as 4x130, 5x205, 5x112 etc. Wheels with a 5x205 bolt pattern are also commonly referred to as \"wide-fives\", and 5x112s, normally only fitted to Type 2s, are known as \"narrow-fives\".)

the bolt pattern on your 59 is 5 x 205mm. the bolt pattern for those porsche fuchs is 5 x 130mm. you'd need to get drums drilled & tapped (or studded) for the porsche pattern.

apart from that, i'm pretty sure 14\" fuchs have a nice + offset that will fit well under your fenders.

allthough i personally dont like 14\" wheels on beetles, i do love the porsche fuchs.

Adapters are the only way those will fit on your drum that you have now unless you change over to a 4 lug drum or disc set up and have them redrilled or buy the porsche pattern drums from cip that they stock
