Title: Shipping A Vehicle To Canada

I need a little advice on shipping a vehicle. Bought a non-running 1966 Westfalia in Florida & I need to ship it to Edmonton Alberta. Or at least to Denver Colorado, as I will be there the last week of June.

The issue I am having is the shipping companys that I have looked into will not ship an un-running vehicle. Are there any other options?

In my line of work, I deal with freight companies. A friend in the industry replied to me as follow:



for transporting cars across canada and the usa.. you can try the following
companies

SEA RAIL 604-521-1016

and

HANSEN'S L FORWARDING 604 - 540-6360

both these companies should be able to help you out.

As for SEARAIL... DONT USE THEM :angry:  :angry:  They sure made a mess of Pierced`s truck and they contracted out the job ( without her knowledge) to a third party company that was an unreputable towing outfit...... ]:(  ]:(  ]:(  DONT USE SEARAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have used Searail for 3 vehicles now with no troubles (I have heard and seen horror storries from all companies though....it depends so much on who's doing the job, not so much the actual company). They have a local Edmonton office for you to call if you choose to go that way. I have also used hese guys once too : www.aa-auto.com.  Not sure if they do non runners or not.

Ya dood.. NOT SEARAIL.. It's been 4 months and I'm STILL dealing with the headaches.. they did over a grand of damage to my truck and they still claim no responsability.. APPARENTLY they don't claim damage for classic cars.. Lady told me if it was a newer vehicle, the claim would have been straight forward..

 Tow truck driver put METAL bungees on my truck.. and at 2 points, there was no information as to WHERE my truck was.. NOT COOL.

get a quote from Angel's moving auto's. Lots of good company's on here. Look at the ones with lots of positive feedback.

Maybe look up some of the specialty haulers locally that may have connections with US haulers, from the sounds of it you will need a flat deck long haul tow truck
