Title: Looking For A Summer Job
Post by: amishrabbi on March 20, 2007, 08:23:55 PM
alright guys, i need your help because im in Calgary and cant exactly just go bang on people doors in the lower mainland looking for a job.
im not an apprentice and im not looking to be an apprentice, but i am a first year engineering student who plans to be an automotive engineer when he is done school.  so with that in mind i need more hands on experience with cars, im a member of the University of Calgary FSAE team and i have done work on cars before so im not totally useless and inexperienced

now i realize because im not an apprentice and not planning on being one it kind of limits my options, but if me and the shop get along they have me for all the summers im in school that they want me. im looking for an \"elevated shop bitch\" position, by that i mean sure ill sweep and change oil and do that type of stuff you don't want to bother actual mechanics with, but i also want to actually work on cars, since that is really the point of me working in a shop rather than construction or something.

so if you guys know anyone who might be interested in hiring me or even if you know of shops that are more open minded in their hiring any help i can get would be much appreciated.

Hey, when are you coming down this way? I run a small BMW speciaty shop in Surrey, and am in NEED of an \"elevated shop bitch\". I'm pulling 12 hour days right now, trying to keep up. Believe me, I'll put you to work :D

Mostly 70s and 80s BMW stuff, but I also need someone to help me with my 68 Beetle, and whatever else comes in the door.
