o.k lets get it rolling ,look at this top 10 spots on last years actop 20.only 5 cars were able to brake into the 12's and even worse only 4 were from b.c in the top 10.i'm sorry b.c people this is not good enough .
at least all 5 spots in the forced induction class were all from b.c !!
so it would appear that breaking into the 12's is not that easy after all !!!
SO LET'S HEAR WHAT OUR B.C RACERS ARE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT !!! :D

jim & alan,
the pics in your sigs are absolutely badass 24/7. that guy shoots a mean photog.
speaking on behalf of myself and my 19 second n/a car.....i think that is the best i'll get for sometime to come. ;)

Silas,
I paid the guy some good coin for 2 (8 megapixel) pictures. Super nice guy and he threw in that cropped pic (in my sig) because I wanted his logo to help him advertise.

well worth the $$, imho.
those pics capture the action and fury that is 1/4 mile drag racing.

i always get a kick out of the old guy in the tattered leather jacket, with the export a green hanging out of his mouth, riding the kids moutain bike, with his beat down briefcase, taking pictures and selling them to the racers.
he's quite the character.

Awsome picture Alan...well worth it.
I'm going for the long shot....11's...in a singleport........no cast crank this time, 7 pounds more boost to get to 22 pounds, should in theory...( I like theory) give me another 40-50 hp...so 230 - 250 hp ....will be close to 11's depending on how much boost I can build on the line and first/ gear......we'll see, might need some NOS to get out of the hole and spooling... absolute last ditch effort though, I would rather up the engine size.. I am switching from a 3:88 r&p to a 4:37 r&p and running slicks, so these 2 changes should be the biggest et difference from last years coasting 13.1 run.... I would love to really know what my car would have done if it didn't break on that pass...ohwell.
This is only if I get time this year, last year was a gift, didn't build the shop, am building it this year, have to help my uncle build his log cabin at 100 mile, and a family reunion at our house so everyone can enjoy what beach life is really like in the Shuswap..
I'm really itching to race though, it might come down to a last week thrash like before......which seems to be how my life works when it comes to VW's...
I would like to see some 1/8 mile mph's from last year for you guys running 11's and 12's. I ran a 88 mph for curiosity sake.

March 30th FIRST STREET LEGAL AT MISSION!!!!!
Well after Brian added a few hundred pounds of glue to my car I am only shooting for an 11.xxx slip - I haven't changed to much with my car:
Line Loc
TO4B (was a generic T3)
New 3\" exhaust (Stainless)
Better return line for my fuel
A new set of street shoes
Installed the LM1 so I can actually tune it this year.
And FIXED MY SMOKING PROBLEM :)
-
Larrys Looker Mach2, AKA 'The Troublemaker' will make some passes this year..probably skipping the burnout box though. She's just too fancy underneath.. :D The new engine combo(smaller vents, CB 2295 cam) will hopefully make it less of a handful to drive on the street. Watch out all Isuzu pickups...
-
Let's see - oh yeah seized it. Oh well I guess it's time to think about what can be done when it's opened up.
-
im puttin in a new front beam (again) and hopefully not breaking anymore shock mounts!
no miracles from me this year tho, im just hoping to get through the year without breaking...
-

that dood is hilarious, except for the fact he doesn't ever shut up. :D
-
I just went out and done boughts me a Hemi (in my best hillbilly accent) Now I just gotta figure how to get it in the beetle?
-
I just plan on doing some tuning. I guess new valves and springs are it for any changes.
-
watch out tom !
looks like alan has some serious hardware.
he's gunning for #1 spot.
for kicks and giggles :D i may take a run down the track N/A this year.
-
Might be a few old names return to that list this year... As far as #1 spot I would be interested to see Cam-dog take the burgandy baron out for a n/a pass also...

roger that...
-
I am going to try and make it, seems that every time I sit down some other idea pops in my head that is pushing back my start up time!
-
I was bored so I slapped this one in tonight.
Turbo Jim wasn't kidding when he said this was the best shifter!! 4 cleanest gates I've ever used!!!
Hair shorter than my mint Hurst shifter. It sucks that I'm a short dude with short arms  longer curve isn't available apparently.

Just an FYI there will be some kick ass prizes again this year from the ACTop20 sponsors plus I have started to make some custom trophies out of VW parts (old idea but cool nontheless). There will be trophies for:
#1 N/A Spot
#1 Turbo /No2 Spot
#1 Race Only Spot
Plus Brian and I are cooking up a real street car shootout and Silas is going to run his stock displacement challange!
-
never seen aircooled hemi is it a real hemi or one of the new name only ones
-
Should be an intresting summer Nice photos guys B)
-
glad to see there may be a bit more interest from our b.c N/A cars to hit the track ,i know there are a few fast ones out here somewhere .
-
Larrys Looker Mach2, AKA 'The Troublemaker'
lmao....that's saweeet.
....and Silas is going to run his stock displacement challange!
rather than just the \"one time\" gcvws stock motor challenge, i was thinking of trying to set up a few different friday nights (street legals) where the smc participants could take some runs down the track...more like a series of races...say 3-4 nights throughout the summer and then have the best overall or best average et's & mph.
i'll mull it over and start a thread to see what people think.

I guess Mr. Tweddle will be making the best MPH and ET's again.

mr. tweddle actually decided not to officially participate in the stock motor challenge.

never seen aircooled hemi is it a real hemi or one of the new name only ones
A Carrera 4 cam engine is a true Hemi head engine.
maybe Geoff found one of those????
-
Nope this one has an extra 4 cylinders
-
The way all those people drive the \"new\" hemi's in those new cars its expected to see alot of those engines in the wreckers in totalled cars.
-
Here Alan, your picture is too dark, I lightened it some. My.... your engine brace is torqued.

Well. unless I go with a fiberglass frontend on the ghia and some more lightening up of the car, 12's for me this year will be a stretch. NEXT year ya all better watch out!
