Can anyone tell me if it is possible to put a 64 T1 gas tank into a 69 T3. I want the filler under the hood.
Thanks
Steve

Anything is possible, but If I recall the opening in the trunk floor for the tank in the T3 is a lot larger than a T1. The filler neck on the T3 has a large curve in it to go through the wall that seperates the spare tire from the tank.
If you need an early model T3 tank, I have one from a 64.

Does that fill from inside the trunk?

This is the only picture I could fing right now, but that red cap is the fuel filler. it runs through a hole in the wall in the trunk.

I was hoping to find something that would fill from the inside the trunk. The issue is, the hood is louvered and there is a liner under the hood. Having the filler in front of the divider for the spare tire would put it right where the water runs off the liner.
My only other idea is to make a new filler for the stock tank and turn it up just inside the edge of the trunk.
Any sugestions

You just said what I was going to suggest. Perhaps using a type 1 filler on your existing T3 tank?

I'll keep playing around with that idea. Thanks for the input and pic.

Yes, it is just like the one in the pic that Matt posted.
