Anyone have a picture of their hard tranny mount (bellhousing end) with the strap going over the tranny?
I installed mine today and don't feel comfortable with where it sits - I will post a pic of it in the morning.
Thanks.

Why is the header touching the drivers side of the lower mount. Mine did and I had to modify it by grinding a small piece of it off so everything worked out.
-
I think my Berg header was hitting the driver side too. I had to grind quite a bit out. James, I will have my motor out of the oval in about a week and if you still need can take a pic then.

I was more concerned about the strap in the starter housing area - not comfortable with the way it loops over it.

Pics added above.

What is it about the strap you don't like?
-
that is the same way mine looks on my 67. its just installed a little more toward the rear of the car, about 1/8-1/4\" from being flush with the bell housing

this is what james is not happy about, bruce.

I guess no worries then - thanks guys.

I saw that, i just figured i would let him know that those mounts always interfere with a merged header.

Hey James,
Im sure you already know, but might want to check if your flywheel clears those pretty new (nylon) lock nuts.
If you ever put in that motor
-
Great another thing to worry about!
-
Yeah, Those bolts are instaled the wrong way! better change those B)
-
I installed them like that on purpose

I really don't see the need for the strap that goes over the top. The 4 bolts at the bottom should suffice. I've never seen a trans case busted in that area on cars without the strap.
I'd also recommend you put some safety lockwire on the clips that hold your throw-out bearing. Tie around the loop of one clip then wrap the wire under the T-O bearing and tie to the other clip. Those clips are notorious for falling out, even the double loop Saab type you have.

Straps suck.
