Just incase anyone's wondering what the people with more money than brains have to choose from in the way of \"exceptional\" VW's here's the link.

just for the sake of conversation, i was thinking that the heb-rod would have faired well at barrett jackson. after talking with geoff and finding out that there is now a no reserve clause on cars up for auction, we both agreed that most of the people attending and bidding wouldnt know the true value of the car, and that it would be too much of a crap shoot.

it would have been cool tho, and i'm sure it would have opened alot of eyes as to what can be done to a vintage acvw.

Thats funny you bring that up. The first guy that offered to buy it actually sells lots of cars there and wanted to sell the Heb Rod there. I just wasnt ready to see it go at that point....I do think about that time to time as to what it may have sold for. There sure is a lot of people with way too much money out there.

I am happy I got to see the heb when it was in the great north.

Barrett Jackson is on lot 390 next VW's are 406, 407.. a very nice 1974 VW Thing convertible and a very rare 1973 Thing pickup could be yours silas. :D

Lot number 414 is the split. And there is more. Looks like all the cheap cars, I mean VW's are coming up. :)

They skipped the Things on TV.

I watched the split& the 62 vert go.I did notice a condescending attitude from the commentators tho , If it isn't a million dollar hemi , or a vette ,thenit's just a cute little car... [_[ I guess we all can't like the same stuff.
