Title: My 64 Got Me Home
Post by: egspot on January 10, 2007, 06:27:38 PM
I shouldn't enjoy this, because some people had real situations out there.

With blind spots and all I went to work and back. Almost had to change my pants a couple of times as some people think they are invincible. I am old and I know better.

know what you mean emilio. i spent over 3 hours commuting today (usually 20 mins one way). roads weren't fun, but mostly cos there's some real dumbasses out there.

classic example: at a stop light on North Road this morning, my front tires are slipping real bad and i'm sliding downhill when my foot's not on the gas pedal. i would have thrown it into reverse to catch a bare spot, but this lady is parked right on my ass. each time i slide further down, she drives up CLOSER to me. i finally yank on the parking break, get out of the car, and politely tell her that if she doesn't move, i'm going to hit her. she freaks, tells me there's no where for her to go (even though left and right lanes are totally clear). i inform that she's just going to have to try, otherwise i'm going to end up sliding into her...

her response? \"IF YOU HIT ME, I'LL SUE!\"

daft eejit.

good job emilio.

ditto to a hassle free commute in an acvw. even tho it's a short drive, my 64 fired up and cruised to work no problem. my biggest trouble came when i almost went to leave with my coffee mug on the roof.

If you're at a stop and roll back into someone, it's the person in back that is at fault. It's happened many times. If it were to go to court they would pay ;)

Gawdd..... Today I was driving a ford explorer 4x4.. that thing actually sucked compared to my old bug. My Mazda (that's currently for sale... hint hint.. nudge.. nudge...)... handles well in the snow.. even better than the exploder.. Go figure.

Normally takes me 45 min to drop the boys off to daycare and get to class.. Today.. 4 friggin HOURS!!!!!
If tomorrow looks like this, it'll be an official jammie day.

I figured if I left work early I would be home on time. I left Boundary & 1st Ave. at 3:30. I got through the front door of my house at exactly 8 pm. Im sure now that Matt and Jen have the right idea about getting the hell out of here.    The Alex Fraser was a gong show as there were people all over the place. Semi couldnt get up the hills. The same went for the highway 99 as I sat there for another 2 hours. Im looking forward to summer.

I don't understand that.  The bridge deck is heated to prevent ice.
