Title: Tires Onto Rims

Where is a good place, in the Langley area, that I can trust to put my tires onto the rims/balance etc.

are the wheels wide 5?
theres not many people in town that can balance wide 5s, maybe someone will chime in that knows where someone is that can still do it.

Not in the Vancouver area, but here on Van Isl I always get OK tire to mount and balance my wide 5's.

I heard sometime ago about someone using a drum to balance them. I have no idea how. Maybe someone else does.

You can set up an old spindle and drum in the vise and static balance your own wheels, but it's not as good or accurate as getting them electronically dynamic balanced.

the problem with balancing stock wide 5 wheels is that tire balancing machines dont come with a cone large enough to fit the huge stock wide 5 center.

that is why you need a special wide 5 adapter with a small inside diameter that bolts to the wheel itself and then the cone on the balancing machine fits into it. there is a tire shop near/in maple ridge (i think) that has that adapter. that's where i got my stock wide 5's balanced after i mounted the 135's. the owner has a nice kombi too, and does alot of vw tire balancing at the shop.

the drum trick would work. bolt the drum to your wheel and then mount that on the balancing machine. not as precise tho, imo.

Got the guys at California Tire to set me up. Thanks for all the suggestions. :)
