Post by: Brassmonkey on November 10, 2006, 10:58:18 PM
Hey all you buggy owners out there I'm building a buggy and I was just wondering if there insured as a beetle or do I have to change it to a dune buggy and if so do I have to go through a safety first thanks.

My main daily driver buggy is registered as a 2door convertible,One I built and sold said dune buggy,You have too go through a vehicle inspection with it ,I went too local service station and had both of mine done...One person on this form went too an insurance agent in a supermarket and just registered it and insured the beast..You could also get lucky. If you have the legal title for the pan in your name you should have no problem..But  rules change by the hour at i.c.b.c...Dan

Assuming it is a fibreglass buggy... you could buy a junker beetle or preferably just a pan WITH current regi. Put your body on that pan and transfer into your name. Just make sure it does not have a insp notice.
