imho

You should give more information.....i.e.

When was it built and by whom?
Miles on it?
What parts were new on the engine and what work was done on the used parts?

A fresh motor could be as low as 500 (parts, cleaning, machining etc.) if you do it your self and up to 3000 if you have a reputable builder do it.

re-sale of a rebuilt motor could range between 200-300 and up to 1500 based on previous sales I have seen on different sites.

Hope that helps.

don't say `motor RAN great`, use `motor RUNS great`. ;D

it like those ads that state that the car `ran when parked`. or ran great (till rod windowed the block)

also, if you`re selling a car with a noisy tranny, put a loud exhaust system on and install sawdust in the gearbox. it`ll drown out that whining 4th gear

I have found that a loud stereo does the same job.
