Do you want a drag car or road course? If your looking to build a drag car (gasser) I know of some good links.

Going to be road course.  There is a guy that races with sovren in the states.  He has a 65 that was raced from 65 to 70 then retired and he gave it new life. Going to try and get ahold of him as well but hoping for some local knowledge.  It has to be built to era correct scca specs or other governing body of the time.

Good luck on the build! As someone who has been on a mission of a vintage period build it takes slot of time and even more cash, but very well worth it! It would be a blast

Thanks silas, there is some good stuff there.  The build will over time get expensive but i plan on it being a progression.  I want to build something that i can start to race with and over time add more period extras.  I will have to really go through the rules and see what i can do and stay in the spirit of vintage racing.  Im hoping as well to get some help from my father inlaw who has been racing with the vintage club for years but thinks my vw habbit and vws of all years should not exist.  All proof i can get that a bug can road race will help convince him.  Its going to be a fun project.
