Nice pics James. I see you bought the D40  . Great camera! Learn how to use it (all the settings). It will take some incredible pics for you if you experiment with it.

I have the D70s ;)

had an F70 back in the day before digital, and it was the absolute shit. too bad some fudgepacker stole it in france... still miss that camera.

as for pics, the first one made me laugh. looks like brass knuckles being used for a shifter knob.
Sometimes I get the feeling the whole world is against me, but deep down I know that's not true. Some smaller countries are neutral.

This camera blows me away... My last camera was a 3.1mp Kodak which cost over a grand when I bought it, for the time it was the bes thing going but this camera makes that camera look like shit.

I hear ya about learning how to use it, I'm going to take a night course at Kwantlen (if they offer one)... There are switches and dials all over this thing!

If you can't find a class, start looking for some instructional books on-line. Once you learn the basics about aperture, shutter speeds, film speed and a few others, you just start playing with settings on your camera. I've learned a ton of stuff in the past 2 years just by playing with the settings. I am currently shooting most of my pics in the A mode (you set the aperture and the camera does the rest, for the most part).

Enjoy!

I shot this one in Edinburgh, Scotland this past spring. I locked the film speed at 200. Due to the brightness of the day the shutter speed was up around 1/5000 sec. (check out the end of the barrel)

Nice pics James. Nice and clear pictures. I liked the pics of Riley in front of your parked car. Too many of that car of yours parked!
