That Temp Permit sure makes that car HOT!!!!
-
Is your rear bumper crooked? Or am i seeing things? I still think the front end should still come down a notch. Otherwise looks good.

Have you ever considered dropped spindles.....seems to be the way to go from what I hear. I think you mean the rear bumper chris. Looks good
-
His disc brakes are not compatible with any drop spindles, but looking at the new pictures it really needs a narrowed beam, the front tires appear to sit wider because of the camber of the rears. Kirin its getting close but you need to go with a narrowed beam, its looking really good though, and if you want to go to a narrowed beam I will help you with the swap.
-
Hey Chris.
I have been considering it. I'm looking at maybe getting one soon when I'm a bit more flush with Lootcakes. For now I think its pretty decent but a narrowed 1-2 inch beam could tuck the tires nicely... Hmmmm.
I might just be taking you up on that offer soon!
-
whats that little \"D\" thingey above ur rear bumper??
-
Deutschland country code plaque
Very common if you live in Europe to have your country code displayed.
-
alrighty then
thanx
-
Yes the rear bumper is slightly crooked too. Damn interference fit with the decklid.
-
your car is really looking good now kirin. it's amazing what a clean pair of socks and shoes and a tastefull lowering job can do for the look, eh.
i do agree that it would look cleaner/more complete if the front was a tad lower.
just curious, what's the history of the car? local? import? respray? how long have you had it? solid?
cheers to a nice ride regardless.

Hey guys,
Thanks for all the postive feedback. Its amazing to look back and see how far my little 62 has come. Even my parents are finally paying attention to it lol.
Anyways Silas a bit about my car. She came out of california 5 years ago. Palo alto more specifically. And judging by the dealership sticker in the glovebox the farthest she's ever been from home is where she is right now. I got her for the grand sum of... nothing. Thats right. It was a gift. So I got a running, driving rust free(besides the battery pan) decent looking 1962 beetle from Cali. She's had a front end rebuild. Been used as a stock daily and then finally I've allowed my creativity to go mad on her and the real transformation has been from a stock worn out beetle to a nice summer cruiser(new interior, new mechanicals, new seals.. Everything but paint) The paint has been repainted and its a tad off of the original turkis. I personally like it better then turkis and I think a few others agree. As for rust... She's as dry as any early 60's beetle I have ever seen. Heater channels are rock solid as are the rest of the original floor pans. Except the battery tray that's been replaced. Next step up for her is a proper strip down and respray to bring her back to better then new. Other then that she continues to be an adventure. I can't ever sell her since I'm much to emotionally attached to it now..

*cough* virgin *cough*
Looks good Kirin. Maybe you should try for a few shots in the late late afternoon sunshine sometime to bring out the colours as well. Just a thought.
-
Ken little upset that VVWC is down lol.
No comment on the virgin thing.
Hopefully the weather will get better and I should be getting my custom plates soon. I like the idea of some bright shots.
-
Wow! what a difference a lowering job can make. Looks good.
-
Thanks Brian,
I think if there is one thing that has made such a huge difference with this car is the wheels, tires and the stance!
-
I'd raise the back a tad, instead of dropping the front more.
but I am a yank
-
looks good with new wheels and lowered. Nice work Kirin!
-
Looks really good Kirin..
-
Yeah, I was JUST about to comment on that on the vvwc but then BAM!
Site's down.... so yeah.
Looking good. I think that was a good picture location. One day my car will be worthy of 'a photo shoot' not just 'a picture'.
-
Hey dude,
Location was great. Besides the bit of flack we got for parking on the sidewalk its ideal...

This was my best location..... it's the best pic I got of my '74
(Hint: There's only one '74 in this photo, and it's not a vert)

Second from left

Good job :)
The grey one in the middle is my dad's '52 zwitter.... almost done.

Glad to know I know my beetles:p
