Vintage Speed & Collectables Event 3-6pm
This new event is sure to be a hit!We have invited some of western Canada's premier collectors of VW parts and accessories. This will be your chance to find that ultra rare or collectable part before the big show Sunday!
The Vintage speed & Collectables event is very excited to have this years special guest Gary Lang.
Gary is the man behind "LANG", Canada's original VW performance company. Gary built sumps, valve covers, pulleys, covers, breathers and much much more for all the big names (LANG, EMPI, SANDMASTER, SCAT, CLAUDE'S BUGGIES etc.) On display will be many NOS and used original Lang parts including original patterns and art work that have never before been seen in the public.

The Great Canadian Volkswagen Show will welcome approximately 5000 car enthusiasts and their families to the Concord Pacific Expo Site. Air cooled and Water cooled, New and Old, VWs will be on display and ready for judging throughout the park. Families can enjoy taking part in a variety of activities and vendors will be showcasing what’s new and hot on the market.
Western Canada's largest VW event attracts some of the finest Stock and Custom VWs from around the Pacific Northwest, including many past and present Hot VWs Magazine feature cars (18+ cars shot at past GCVW shows). Over 100 awards in 48 Classes. All types of VWs in any condition welcome. Pre-registration is now Open. Dealer Displays, Swap Area, 50/50 Draw, Trivia Contests and more...an entire day of VW fun for the whole family!
The fee for Displaying your VW is $25 CAD. Registration on Sunday morning takes place from 8am to 11am, space cannot be reserved or guaranteed day-of-show. Pre-registration and Show shirt pre-orders is now Open.
Please note: For the safety of all spectators, once vehicles are parked in the show car area they must remain until after the awards ceremony which runs from approx 3:30-4:30pm.
Swap Meet Area spaces are available for every type of VW parts vendor. We offer small private (15' x 15') swap spaces for $40. Swap setup opens at 7am and closes when space is filled (on a first come, first-served basis) and is usually full by 10am. For Dealer Display and New Product Vendor areas, please contact the show administrator to pre-register (no day-of-show registration).

The last few years have proven difficult as we have outgrown the last 2 venues and have had a few curve balls thrown our way, we appreciate everyone's patience as we have worked hard in securing the weekend with new activities and a closer host hotel location so everyone can enjoy the GCVWS !
Now with the new locations secure things will be much easier and we can get out the info about the show weekend earlier to you in the future !

I've got a book, "VW Canada, the First Ten years" which has some cool old photos and info on VW Canada. I've only ever heard of this one, and one another on the Samba before. I was fortunate enough to obtain it from Jason a few years ago and will bring it out to the "Vintage Speed and Collectibles Event" Saturday afternoon for anyone wanting to check it out. (After the Zundefolge cruise to North Van.) Looking forward to some cool Vintage Speed stuff, along with literature and toys. Tired of all those duplicate VW toys in a box under the bed. (guilty ;) ) Bring em out to swap or sell! There's lots of space inside the hall.

One of the goals of the GCVWS this year is to help get this fire truck to the people who need it most.
Your donations make it happen!
This 1981 GMC Superior pumper was donated to FWB Canada by Wainwright Alberta FD. It has been moved to the Beaverly FD in Prince George for the winter, thanks to FWB member and Fire Chief Bruce Perrin. Soon it will be moved to Vancouver and then begin its journey to the Bomberos in La Mision on the Baja Peninsula of Mexico. FWB Member and YOLO Racing partner Ross Burden is directing this project. This will be our first apparatus donation to Mexico.

I'm loading up a full truck and cargo trailer to bring to the Sunday swap meet from this 40 year collection for Sundays show and swap meet , if there's any special requests please PM me and I will bring it over from the island , aprons , bumpers , fenders and a ton of parts will be available to choose from and lots for the vintage swap on Saturday . It's going to be an awesome weekend , thankyou Geoff and everyone working so hard to putting on this fantadtic weekend , can't wait :)

We're pretty excited for this years event. We have worked hard the past 6 months getting all new Saturday events for 2014, and now we have added "The Bus Movie" to Sat night.
Tell a friend, spread the word and lets fill the lot with not only Buses but every kind of VW!

Does anyone know if there is a campsite close to the host hotel or at least a cab ride away? We are coming from the Okanagan in the bus so it seems a shame to hotel it. I'd ghetto camp in the parking lot but my wife is not feeling great about that idea.

There may be a few(cough.. Cough) parking overnight at the pub-hotel lot. I don't think it will be a problem.. Besides campsites there's lots of places within walking distance to park camp on the down low.
As for a real camp RV site, there's one by lions gate bridge and someone mentioned another but I don't recall.

the all VW cruise on Saturday from the SGVWA Pancake Breakfast at Regency VW to the Vintage Speed & Collectables Event (http://www.airspeedparts.com/forums/index.php?topic=23526.0) has been modified and improved to include a 30 minute pit stop at beautiful Cates Park!!
the park has the famous Wally's Burgers concession for snacks, a kids playground, washrooms and plenty of room to stretch your legs and hang out before continuing on to the Vintage Speed & Collectables Event!!

there will be no drive up Seymour mountain due to air quality & smoke issues from the active forest fires in bc (we hope everyone and their families in those areas are safe and secure).

closest official "campsite" would be the one Geoff mentioned near Park Royal Mall, http://www.capilanoriverrvpark.com/camping-near-vancouver but it's not cheap! The Walmart parking lot at Capilano Mall always has RV's!

The 23 window was a hit Steve! I know every vehicle at the show has had its challenges in one way or another to be able to get it there... but knowing the effort you made to have it at all the events was amazing, and much appreciated. Shout out to Thomas too, for working long hours after his Mission 1/4 mile issue! ;) To all, a great turnout, thanks again!

I'd like to thank all the people that help get my car home and back on the road. Geoff for the idea... Dave for the strap...Chris for the part...Silas, Kevin and Jeremy for giving your time to help get the tranny mount in. Even with my rough start to the weekend it was a great time. Could believe the amount of cars in the cruise and the addition of the Vintage Parts Show was great. It's a great group of people that share the same passion (or sickness) and always have a great time when ever we get together. Looking forward to next year already to see what new rides will show up.
