Porsche engine Bay Window - looking for history
« on: January 01, 2015, 01:53:48 AM »
Hi everyone, I have owned my bay now for a year and it’s been an amazing time. One thing that has bugged me is I don’t have any history and because it’s quite unique I thought someone out there might have come in to contact or know someone that has.

She was manufactured 17/12/73 as a 221 841 Microbus in Kasan Red and Pastel white and shipped straight to LA, I believe that’s where she stayed until 2007.

At some point she was sprayed matt black but more interestingly had a 1965 Porsche 911 2.0 engine fitted (this was definitely carried out in the US), I have had it rolling road tested at 185 bhp, a 2.0 VW gearbox was used. Around this time steering column was also reclined a few inches.

I know the bus was imported into Europe by Kieft & Klok in 2007 and then by a English buyer in 2011 who owned it before me. There is a video on youtube if you search - t2b kieft en klok

Between 2007 and now it has been sprayed Audi Ibis white, has 17 Fuchs wheels, has been lowered and narrowed and had a Porsche disc brake conversion.

I’d love to know more about her history so any help would be gratefully appreciated.
