Hi just thought Id tell the story of my Vw Thing.In July of 2014 my wife bought me this thing that originally came from California It has 65000 og miles which 40000 of those were towed behind a motor home.Years ago when we were first married I had a really nice yellow thing that we called the wild thing but due to purchasing our first house it was sold.I had always loved the versatility of these vehicles and always wanted another one. Fast forward to 2014 this Thing was imported from the US 6 yearrs ago and sat all year inside except for a couple months during the summer months After researching the history and vin it turns out that this is one of I believe 200 Acapulcos made in 1974 . Although it was painted roughly 20 years ago I could see hints of the baby blue bumpers , hood and licence light.The goal was to return to as it came from the factory but I am reluctant to have the hood and bumpers painted blue until I find a striped blue and white safari top .I am the third owner of this rust free california thing
