Josh, there are no old VW parts or cars in Mexico.  All the old ones were used up, rebuilt, used up, rebuilt, used up........   To death.

Didn't find any diffs in Monterrey.  No Type 181s is the reason I think.  I didn't see a single 181 in Monterrey.  At the north end of town, all the junk yards are in one place.  You can park your car and walk to all of them.  They call it the junk yard mall!

So from there, I headed west to Mazatlan.  I took the super twisty road from Durango to Maz.  To give you an idea how tight it is, I counted turns.  290 turns in 31 km.  I would have set up the camera for a video of how tight they can get, but it was dark out.  The turns were so tight that when oncoming transports put their outside wheel on the white line, the rear axle of the trailer is 3-4' in MY lane.

saw a dark green (velvet green-ish) mid 60's bus (kombi, maybe) with deluxe trim and lowered on 5 spokes at 168th & #10 today.

it was hard to get a good look as i was going in the opposite direction but it looked alot like a bus i saw at victoria volksfest a few years ago that had an old dvkk sticker in the back window. the owner was very chill & friendly and if memory serves correct he said he had got it off of some guy named scott...?

Saw a red and black 21 window by victoria hill in New west today.  Had the exhaust exiting in the top rear corners and had been widened in the rear, sounded like a v8

I've seen that bus at a hot rod show at Tradex, It's had a lot of money spent to ruin it to a very high standard.

Yup! Spring Thaw finished yesterday in Hope. I saw the same bus heading east when I left around 4ish.

Such a great weekend, saw some incredible VW's in Vernon at our overnight stop, plus an NSU(!!!). Unfortunately organizer duties kept me from going to meet the guys before they departed. Anyone on here?

Saw a bamboo coloured '64 or '65 hardtop beetle heading toward 88th coming off 200th street. Looked to be headed to Walnut Grove area. Fuchs, lowered. Looked tight! Around 2:30 PM Monday 20th May.

Anybody know who's car? Think the pass side taillight was out :)

Saw Bruce just heading onto the coquihalla from west kelowna today in his yellow beetle. If I was only a couple of minutes earlier down the Coq, I could have pulled you over and gone for a coffee. Bug looks good. See you at the great Canadian!!!!!

Ya it is a cool ride. Its owner is Jeff S. On this forum as jefftrish.
Its the fastback he had stored and we hauled back from kamloops last year. He found it in the local paper in Ocean Park 6 or 7? Years ago.

Modified for an upright engine and porsche discs on allmfour corners.
Nice to see it back on the road :)
