Airspeed trac bar.
« on: January 23, 2010, 11:12:34 AM »
This is one for those of you that have run the AL Airspeed traction bar on an early car.
Mine seems to be too narrow for some reason. When the shocks are bolted up with the limiting straps and provided spacers I have at least 1/2" of gap between the shocks and main bar with the short AL spacers in place. Even the bolts that hold it on barely make contact with the main bar. 'Am I missing something here or did I get a bar that wasn't made correctly? ???

Should have the Limiting strap on the shock side and a stack of washers to take up the space.

Hey Trevor sorry took soo long to go look:
Like Geoffy said, I have a washer between each of the separations. Or you could machine a space to fit also?

Here is a pic from when I was moching up the pan. Agreed - move the limit strap to the inside, it is a better straight path to the lower bolt.
