I can't speak for Bruce, but at least he offered you an alternative.  As far as the comment goes, he just expressed what I and probably many others were thinking.

It may probably be locally, but you may want to advertise on the Samba.

2 years ago, I flirted with the idea of selling my beetle, so I put it on this site for half of what I paid for it.

Didn't even get a nibble.

As per my PM this morning, I'm not going to just jump on a ferry if you aren't willing to answer questions about the car. If the "other person" wants it, he can take it.

in the meantime, should you wish to still sell the car to me, please answer the questions I asked via pm:

....
What I don't want to do is pay for a ferry and arrive discovering the car has more rust then I've been told about. I think you'll find that to be quite fair. I do intend to split the body and pan on the car that I buy, as well as rebuild all of the suspension, etc. I just simply want to know how much body and pan rust I'm getting into before I start!

For starters, how are the "typical" beetle areas?
- Floor Pans
- Heater Channels
- Corners in front of the rear fenders
- Behind the rear quarter windows
- under the windshield, under the rear window

How about the "super beetle" areas?
- Front shock mounting areas (inside and outside)
- Inner Fenders
- Super-Beetle Frame Head

Any other rust areas I should be aware of? I literally want to know about everything...from bits of surface rust right through to the cancer.

Apparently he feels differently.

Anyways, I'm now looking elsewhere for my next project. If anyone knows of a 71 or 72 Super, or a 69+ standard for sale, please let me know.
