Title: GENE BERG parts?

I have a good question for you guys tonight.I was just reading HOT VWS Nov 78.And in it they had a project Super street scirocco they put a bigger motor in .And at the end of the article they talk about Gene Berg and other VW performance parts people starting to work on parts for the water-cooled crowd.So did they?Did Berg,scat, or any of the early air cooled guy make parts for early(75/80)MK1 rabbits.The early ones had carbs.So maybe a carb kit?So what do you guys think?Thanks
