Title: bus 14s on a bug?

help? can anyone tell me if 14inch wide 5 bus wheels will fit a 66 bug?i have a glass buggy with widened stock 15 inch smoothies on the back & 14 inch cragars with adaptors on the front. my front tires are the size i want to offset the 31s on the rear. i would like to ditch the adaptors and cragars.

I put them on a '64 and found that the tires were pushed into the spring plate,or bump stop,can't remember which,but once the nuts were tight the wheel wouldn't turn....I gave it up.As I recall the tires were stock size for a bus.

apparently the offset must be wrong,i guess im gonna have to buy 15 inch bug wheels & tires. the help is appreciated. thankyou
