Title: Rear Disc Conversion
Post by: lil bugger on January 05, 2008, 11:52:36 PM
I just bought a conversion kit for the back of the baja and I'm a little confused. The only way these calipers will go on ,without doing any mods is straight up ,at 12:00  ! Is this correct,I've never seen a brake caliper mounted this way!wondering if anyone else has installed this kit? thanks Don

You may have to be more specific as to what kit you have and what your putting it on.

In Most cases the caliper will mount to the rear of the car so the caliper bleeder will face up. what kit do you have?

You sure you can't rotate the caliper bracket another 90 degrees CW? Mine was sitting at 3 o'clock.
And just as G-dog mentioned, make the bleeder on the top...I found out the hard way after hours of frustration...oops!

I got them mounted with the calipers to the back of the car, I had to cut some metal off the end  of the swing arm .no biggie   Theres 2 bleeders per caliper so there all good! I was also wondering about other conponents of the system?Master cyl. (mines stock,& I have ghia front disc's too ),check valves ,& an adjustable perportioning valve.I thought I'd just try the stock master first,no check valve and see how it works. the proportioning valve would just be for fun between on & off road!
