Engine Leaking !

anyone want to earn a couple bucks and beer


i am losing oil like a bastard from behind the fan and need help to solve this problem


the car is a 64 type 1 with a 1500 single port

Sounds like the oil cooler has come loose. A problem that's not uncommon. It's not too hard to fix.

Get under the car and look under the engine (front of it) , Is the leak on the engine between the engine and trany? That could be the  flywheel seal. It would require that you drop the motor and have the tools to take the flywheel off to replace it.

If it is comming from under the fan housing to the front and back of it, the leak will be from the cooling tower. Likely you can look in the back of the motor and see oil leaking under the fan housing or put squeze your  hand behind the housing and feel for the leak. This is an easier fix, You will have to remove the gen.alt and probably the carb as well. Then you cak remove the housing and look alt the cooling tower. Remove it and replace the small round seals and put everything togueter.
