What'e The Details
« on: January 24, 2005, 11:26:38 AM »
Hey guys. I'm hoping someone can tell me what trans I've got here.

It's a late Super-beetle Single-side-cover IRS with the AH code on it.

Can anyone tell me what R+P and gear ratio's it should be?

Thanks in advance.

It has a 4.12 R&P with:
3.78
2.06
1.26
.89

I'm curious, what's the rest of the trans code?

Hans, even though an AT is the most common SSC for us, they did exist as an AH, which is the same as an AT but with a 4.12 R&P.  And just to confuse you more, Mirko has an AM SSC, which is a factory 4.37 R&P.

So these letters are refering to the R&P for the most part?

the biggest diff is the R&P.  All 3 of those I listed will have a 9 tooth mainshaft.  I bet the AH and AM will also have a different 4th gear than the AT.  I expect them to have a .89 instead of a .93.

I don't know that one yet Hans.  Do you have one of those?

How about this one, AN  SSC.  Seen that one?  I saw my first one on Wed in a 74 KG.  It is supposed to have a 3.88 R&P with
3.78
2.06
1.26
0.89

This would make it the tallest geared Type 1 trans ever made.
