OK, I'm just pondering what compression I'm gonna run in the 2332. I have barrell spacers done, and the deck height figured. I was planning on using copper head gaskets as well which will yield a 9:1 ratio. If I pull out the coppers, that will bump me up to 9.7:1, with still safe deck height. Is it gonna be worth it to run a bit higher compression, or should I stick with the safer 9:1? I plan on running premium either way, and the car WILL be street driven as well. 911 shroud, with K-8 cam, and 044 CB heads with Kroc's touch.

what kind of gas can you get over there?
i run my 2275 at 9.6:1 with no worries on 94 oct gas

Hey Trevor. Run the .040\" and no copper torqued to 25ft lbs. You will be very happy! I am running 10.5:1 in a 2110cc with an engle 100 on 94 octane daily driven till the tranny went on holiday. With the K8 you could run 11.5:1 on pump gas with no problem. Tied together with Kroc heads and you would have an incredible engine. 9.7:1 will be excellent though. I know Brian Cook runs about the same compression (9.7:1) and runs 13.7  (Kroc heads) in the quarter on street tires and stock 4th gear in a fully dressed convertible Ghia. Allen U. is running High 11s with 9. somthing and Kroc heads in a full body 60s beetle. I know Brian is running .040\" deck hieght without the coppers and you would have to ask allen what he runs but I bet it is real close to .040\".

Yup , I'd agree with the .040\"  regardless of the comp. ratio  or if you use the copper caskets or not .  Based on what I hear and read ,  your engine  \" MAY \" run hotter and be more prone to detonation with .070\" deck  despite the lower comp. ratio .

If you have good steel rods .040 is a great  deck height for performance and tunability.  I  have a friend down here that runs 10 to 1 on a street 2332 and drives it daily with no problems.  He does use a slightly larger cam though.  Web 86b I believe.   What carbs do you intend to use?   Sounds like a great combination.  Tim.

Yeah, I'm running 84 CB crank with 5.5 CB H beams. Haven't bought any carbs for it yet (last big ticket item). Orginally was gonna run 48 DRLA tri-jets, but now 'am leaning more towards IDA's. Airfilters (or lack thereof)....that's the only thing I don't like about the IDA's. [_[

I'm pretty sure you can run an aircleaner on IDA's - you just wouldn't be cool though.

Yeah, I've seen those stupid looking little K&N pod put on top of the stacks...I say no!
I bet I would be cool if I had a set of oldschool NOS Empi airfilters for IDA's though! :lol:

Maybe a little....I really liked my old tri-jets they were nice carbs but nothing beats the sound of an IDA!
