Does anybody know if there is a way to adapt an alternator to a stock type three fan housing??? and if so where can I get it!!

Toby Erkson has done this with a forklift alternator, interesting install to say the least.

Most forklifts use Nippendenso equipt alts, Try a chevy sprint they are also avail from powermaster in case you need SUPER POWER!!! BAHAHAHA~
Its the same one i used on my blower motor!

Thats an excellent conversion, but hey If you are going to the trouble, get a 70 amp or better. seems like a lot of work for 40 amps.

I did strap a rabbit 75 amp alternator onto a 73 wagen a couple years ago. All I did was clearance the fan housing a little then fab a new strap found a longer belt and bobs your uncle. Needless to say it wasn't pretty but it did work and with only a small dimple in the deck cover was able to close the lid. It would have been better with a smaller alt. and some time spent making a proper bracket to fit properly in the fan housing with belt adjustment. It is a great conversion.
