1959 VW Beetle ragtop project - $2000 (surrey)
1959 VW Bettle Ragtop (just the big sunroof, NOT full convertible).
This was a project that I actually bought off my good friend when he was needing money. I paid more than what I'm asking for and it has literally just sat in my nice warm garage for about 5 years. At least it's been protected from the weather.
It's basically a rolling chassis.
My friend is a bit of a German car nut and used to restore beetles. He took this one right down to the frame, welded in new pans and pan head and painted all of the frame with POR-15.
He then stripped the body down and painted it with a high grade primer. Then put the two halves together. So it has no interior and no motor installed. Suspension, tranny and wheels are all there so the car can be pushed on to a trailer. It's all very light!
Basically, the hardest part is done - just needs someone to finish it. Paint it whatever colour you want!
I do have the old motor that it came with, although it's not original, it was in there and running at the time. Has a lot of parts for it, I believe all the glass, bumpers, roof, lights, etc.
